The concept builds on earlier enterprise approaches that placed lightweight Raspberry Pi devices close to users to verify wireless availability and report back to a central monitoring platform. Beacon modernizes that idea around Internet experience, dual-path measurement, high-resolution incidents, and scoring.

Beacon is designed around a single core monitoring engine rather than separate products for each audience. The presentation changes—from an A–F Beacon Grade to full engineering telemetry—but the underlying measurements remain consistent.
